This Song

always makes me think of Sam and Dean from “Supernatural” and when they were separated and being all angsty and stuff.

I know that, technically, this song is about lovers and it could be about Sam and Dean in that way (Wincest=it’s full of win! lol) and I totally support that—really— I think this song has meaning for their relationship in a filial way too. It addresses how lonely they are, trying to drown their sorrows in substance or other people and they can’t handle thinking about it, would feel like they’re betraying each other.

They want to go back to how it was but they’re scared it will never happen. Sam is looking for faith, someone new to look up to, and Dean just wants to lose his memories, forget he has a little brother to protect.

Yet, they can’t help going back to each other, because they are each the home of the other.

ps: This is what happens when I’m sick and exhausted and driving home late at night after a long day…I start analyzing everything and my mind connects the strangest things…

SO MUCH WIN.
